Concert Review by Art Rusche

WOW!!!   Again WOW!!    I knew this concert was going to be over the top and it was!!  I bought tickets to this show at the box office when they went on sale a few months back and it quickly Sold Out!  I became a fan of Cobra Starship before the JBB last year and originally they were the headliner band then 3oh!3 jumped into the limelight with several top 40 hits!!  Best known for "Don't Trust Me" and "Starstrukk" with Katy Perry. Their new hits "Blah Blah Blah" and "My First Kiss" with Ke$ha, and now "Follow Me Down" which was featured in the new movie "Alice in Wonderland" are breaking all the records!!!

My niece Lauren wanted to go too so I went on Craigs' and bought two tickets for $80 then sold one for $50. Nice $30 ticket! We met in the lounge line and were first in line! The under 21 line was already getting long! We killed a couple hours in the lounge with some fries, drinks and after snagging a poster we were first in line to enter!

We got stage center about three heads from the stage and the then U21's came in and crushed the place! It was definitely the tightest Mosh I've been too! "I Fight Dragons" as described by Wikipedia, is a chiptune/NES-rock band from Chicago. Their music combines pop / rock songs with original electronic sounds made using Nintendo Game Boys and Nintendo Entertainment Systems. Each band member had NES controllers and they had a floor game pad! They sounded good!

They opened the back door between acts which was a relief but then it closed and it got hotter and tighter! I brought in a water bottle but was saving it for nearer the end.  The center of the pit was getting real hot and tight now. Travie McCoy formally from Gym Class Heroes played next. The dancing and heat had my jeans slide down to my thighs :o Thank Goodness I had My Guinness boxers on! I could not even reach down between the bodies to pull them up! My camera was in one hand and by this time the pressure cooker started and we were both soaked!

 Out Of The Pit
After Travie, I had to get out. I was so burning up and started drinking my water which didn't seem to help at all.  I just started backing up through the crowd and finally made it out of the pit. The first thing I heard when I got out was "Ewwww, this guy is soaking wet!". I tried to find a place to sit down but then I found myself almost blacking out, or did I??  All I remember was the security guard asking if I was alright?!? I do remember running out of the club with my pants around my knees, into my car across the street and turning on my AC.  I drank a couple more waters and Gatorades. All my clothes were soaked and had to take off my hoodie. After a while I was finally able to pull up my pants!!!! "Pants on the Ground, Pants on the Ground, Lookin' like a fool With your pants on the Ground"

I texted Lauren and she had pulled herself out from the pit too from the front and was recovering in the bathroom.  I had drank plenty of water, Gatorades and vitamins before the concert but still succumbed to heat exhaustion and dehydration!  I listened to 2 Sounders FC goals while I was in the car!! :))

When 3oh!3 took the stage Lauren got herself back to the front. I stayed off stage right but still was able to get some good shots from there. 3oh!3 played a high energy set! They excited the crowd with every song and the crowd knew all the words!
"Shush girl shut you lips, Do the Helen Keller and talk with your lips"

After the set and encore song "Don't Trust Me", Lauren emerged from the pit. She was totally drenched too and had one of Nat and Sean's towels! She snagged a water from the front of the stage and was so excited!

This was another good weight loss program!!

There is such an incredible high being so close to the performers especially for a high energy concert as this one was!

Enjoy my pictures below as much as I did taking them!

It felt so good when the rear door opened
between bands, but then they closed
and then the pressure in the pit heated up
to the max!

Travie McCoy formally from
Gym Class Heroes
rocked the joint next!
